The ranking of Google’s search results is very much a working of the algorithm and is biased and filtered with respect to our previous search results which might have expressed our prejudices, habits and intentions. Google sure looks like something free and thus, charitable but it’s definitely not so. It saves information that we give away while searching and sell it to companies so that the advertisement for the exact thing that we need pops up and connects us to the seller.
The main issues with googlization are privacy and our extreme dependency on it. If we use this freedom of information to our benefit instead of abusing it, it is sure to yield more advantage than disadvantage.
