Advantages of Right-Wing Politics:

  • Economic Development:

Right-Wing politics undoubtedly intends to secure economic development. In a country that is dominantly ruled by a right-wing political ideology, there is a possibility of increase in the country’s GDP. Revenues that are collected from the collective income of the mass are ideologically put to good use and are used for the overall welfare of the state.

  • Religious Issues:

In certain countries, religious sentiments play a major role in determining their societal establishments. Right-Wing politics looks after these religious issues with utmost care so that no the sentiments of certain religious entities are not harmed. They promote the welfare of these religious institutions in order to preserve some of the traditional religious beliefs and rituals.

  • Entrepreneurship:

One of the biggest advantages of right-wing politics is they promote entrepreneurial objectives. Many aspiring entrepreneurs who intend to start businesses on their own or want to come up with their own startup ideas can realise their dreams and can even run their businesses effectively without any disturbance caused by unnecessary intervention of the government.

  • Nation’s Defense:

Right-Wing politics invests a lot of time and energy in building up and strengthening the nation’s defense. These political parties hold the issues related to the security of their nations in high regard and their burning passions of nationalism often equip their armies with valour and strength. The army in a country that is dominated by a right-wing political party is often well trained and sufficiently equipped with weapons to defend their country from foreign invaders or other enemy nations.

  • Capitalism:

There are many advantages associated with a capitalist economy. Capitalism promotes free market, rise of private sectors, individual liberty and entrepreneurship. Right-Wing politics is pro capitalism because it aims at improving the nation economically. The economic development is assured in a capitalist economy because both the private and the public sectors contribute in increasing the country’s GDP and overall economic growth.

Entrepreneurs can form trade policies with foreign countries and a healthy commercial relationship can be built as a result. Capitalism offers multiple opportunities to the newbie startup companies who can exercise their business-related strategies in their own countries without any unnecessary state intervention.

  • Accepting Inequality:

One of the most practical approaches of right-wing politics is that it accepts economic inequality that prevails in a nation. An inevitable gulf exists between the rich and poor that cannot be mitigated all of a sudden. What right-wing politics does is it acknowledges this gulf and distributes the nation’s wealth accordingly.

It does not exercise what it cannot execute practically. That is why there exists a basic difference between a theoretical proposition and its practical usage.

  • Individual Liberty:

Unlike left-wing politics that promotes collective equality, right-wing politics, on the other hand, ensures individual liberty. An individual in a society must enjoy his or her own economic and social privileges and not succumb to the general disadvantages encountered by the entire nation.

Disadvantages of right-wing politics:

  • Can promote inequality:

The gulf between the rich and the poor exists in a capitalist economy and a nation that follows the ideals capitalism can promote inequality. Right-Wing politics focuses a lot on a nation’s economic development. As a result, the nation’s wealth is not distributed equally. Class divisions also promote social, political and economic inequality and hence, the rich keep getting richer and the poor poorer.

  • Women’s Rights:

Objectives of right-wing politics often deprive women of their basic rights. Women, in a country that is primarily ruled by a dominant right-wing political party, cannot enjoy their freedom of expression, freedom of speech and often their movements and decisions are regulated and appropriated by the dominant patriarchal society.

  • Rights of LGBTQ+ Community:

Rights of the LGBTQ+ community is not ensured or protected by right-wing politics. They ignore the societal inhibitions, trauma and harassments faced by the members of this community. A country under the governance of a right=wing political party, often ignores to secure the legal, social and economic rights of these marginalised people.

  • Corruption:

Corruption is an inevitable outcome that many economies have failed to prevent. Since right-wing politics shifts its focus enormously on a country’s economic development, often it is seen that economic corruptions have evolved out of any major development plan and the poor have suffered the most because of it. Since right-wing politics promotes economic gulfs and class divisions, the primary victims of these corruptions belong to the lower strata of the society.

  • Conservative Political Agenda:

The political agenda of right-wing politics is often traditional and conservative. As a result, societal liberalism cannot be practised under the governance of a right-wing political party. The tendency to focus more on conservative approaches, orthodox ideals and beliefs and focusing less on the progressive set of beliefs and propositions that promote an overall social upliftment is what right-wing politics religiously follows and unequivocally practises.

Right-Wing politics has certain progressive ideals which can benefit a society and can also bring about economic growth. Since right-wing political parties promote individual liberty, and aim at improving the economic conditions of their economies, they must channelise their ideology in a way that can benefit an entire nation collectively.
