DISADVANTAGES OF SPINNING:

The stages of spinning are many and numerous stages have numerous sub stages as well. This is a process that produces good output, but takes lots of time to complete. Hence this process is sometimes not chosen by textile mill owners due to this problem.
- Possibility of Yarn Breakages:
The yarn is a delicate material. The fibres that are used in spinning are sometimes damaged due to breaking. The chances of breaking are high as well due to the rigorous method of spinning. This creates a lot of waste product and wastage of raw material.
- The Fibre may be Damaged:
The fibre of the material that is to be produced may be damaged in the process due to the immense pressure that they are exposed to when working in the spinning mills. This creates a whole other problem, because the damaged may not be noticeable at first, but later the output has to be discarded.
- Capacity is Limited:
The capacity of the fibres installed for the input and output of material in the spinning mills has to be limited to a certain amount, else the yarn will break and give way to forms of straining that damages the output. This is a big drawback of the spinning process.
- The Cost of Production is High:
The cost of production for the spinning process is high. This is very natural because the people involved in the process are high, and the cost of operating the spinning mills itself is also high. This means that the spinning mills are not every entrepreneur’s first option.
- Production Rate of Yarn is Low:
The production rate of the yarn is not as much as other process of output. The spinning process takes up a lot of fibre input, but produces lesser due to several pieces breaking and other collateral damage. The output is of high quality, but expensive.
- Spinning Mill Costs and Extra Expenses:
The spinning mill costs and expenses of maintenance and space takes up a lot of investment from the production entrepreneur. Hence this makes the process of spinning quite difficult in terms of other processes. This is one of the reasons spinning is lesser used nowadays.

It produces good quality fibres, but lacks the supreme efficiency needed for the modern world.
